I face Father Wisdom and I find disbelief in his eyes
but he won't get me answers to questions that conquered my mind

So I stress my religion to tear my confusion apart
and all that I wanted was a patch on my shivering heart

I walked down the alleys passing the playgrounds and parks
Oh mothers and children, with laughter you're fishing for sharks

It comes with the sirenes the marching of resolute men
they're promising darkness it's painted with devouted hands

So learn from the messages, told by the Lord
how ever you may call him, in any book
They are written into your heart and they always stay the same
Treat me as you want me treating you

Take it, the way you want it
Break it, just like you need it
Fix it, right when you broke it
Get down, down

I'm raising the question to stop fighting in his righteous name
the exhausted elders said it always had been the same

Why don't we learn from the messages, placed in our hearts
we don't need to write them down, they are essential parts

They are carrying references about the meaning of our lives,
of being pleased with what was given to you

So I stress my religion to tear my confusion apart
and all that I wanted was a patch on my shivering heart

Whatever we've learned so far, since 2000 years
it's still causing ignorance and burdensome tears
although it actually ain't difficult to see
we are just as equal as we want to be

Take it, the way you want it
Break it, just like you need it
Fix it, right when you broke it
Get down, down
